Bar Code Preferences

As with all of our software modules, you may define preferences to help maintain consistency among documents, and to improve the efficiency with which bar code documents can be produced. The Bar Code module preferences that can be specified include:

• Display Error Messages if you would like an error message to display when an invalid translation occurs (such as when bar code data is invalid).

• Select Use Checksum for Code 39 links if you would like the module to calculate and insert a check digit in the bar code when it is translated.

• Selecting Visible Start/Stop Characters for Code 39 links will display these characters along with the data that the bar code displays in the document. The visible start/stop codes only affect the printed output (they do not affect the data to be scanned, which will always exclude the stop/start characters).
