DesignMerge FAQs

Optional Modules

Q. Barcodes are not working as expected.

A. If you are using a DesignMerge Barcode Keyword Variable Link to merge data into your document, then confirm that you are applying only the barcode fonts that ship with DesignMerge, for use with the Barcode Keyword Variable Links. Also, confirm that your database is supplying the correct type of data for the Barcode Keyword Variable Link. For example, a Postnet Barcode Keyword Variable Link will process data that contains exactly 5, 9, or 11 digits. All other characters are ignored. The DesignMerge Barcode Keyword Variable Link will process the data it receives to generate the correct code and will automatically add any required check digits. Please review Tutorial #2, the Postcard tutorial, for more information regarding the PostNet Barcode Keyword Variable Link. For information regarding other Barcode Keyword Variable Links, please review the Barcode Module Manual. The Barcode Module is an optional module for DesignMerge that allows you to create other types of barcodes such as UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128 A, and Code 128 B.

Q. I see where you can use DesignMerge to create a PostNet Barcode, but how do I create other types of barcodes?
