What is DesignMerge?

DesignMerge is an award-winning suite of XTensions for QuarkXPress that provides sophisticated mail-merge, variable data printing, and data publishing features. The product works with any QuarkXPress document, allowing the user to create pre-defined “placeholders”, which are designated to receive variable data. DesignMerge can import text, picture, or article information from practically any data source, and merge that information into QuarkXPress layouts to produce unique, personalized output. DesignMerge can output to any PostScript printer, and provides optional print driver modules for high-end digital presses.

What is included with DesignMerge?

Each DesignMerge order ships with a software CD, printed manual, hardware key (dongle) and unique software license codes. Included on the software CD is a copy of the actual XTensions module(s), as well as the documentation in .pdf format, and support files for five walk-through tutorials, which are referenced in the documentation. The printed manual includes a step-by-step guide to the five tutorials, as well as installation instructions, general information and tips & tricks. The hardware key (USB for Macintosh or Serial for Windows) is required for operation of the DesignMerge software in any mode other than demo. And the license codes are entered one time to activate the software upon initial installation.

PPML Driver integration for Canon Devices

The optional PPML Driver is optimized for use on Canon devices and reduces the time it takes to print the job — especially for graphic-intensive layouts common to QuarkXPress. DesignMerge includes the ColorPASS PPD information in the PPML print stream, in effect mimicking the established QuarkXPress print workflow.
